What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

The ideal candidate is someone who takes initiative, stays ahead of potential challenges, and understands that successful project management requires equal attention to field execution, client relationships, and financial performance.

We're looking for a PM who is confident making day-to-day decisions, knows when to involve leadership, and takes pride in seeing projects through from start to finish.

While previous senior-level experience is not required, candidates should demonstrate the maturity, sound judgment, and ownership mentality needed to manage projects with a high degree of independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage assigned construction projects from initial planning through completion, maintaining accountability for budgets, schedules, quality, and overall execution.
  • Coordinate daily project activities with field supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project partners.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure labor and materials are aligned with upcoming milestones.
  • Identify potential scheduling conflicts, scope discrepancies, or operational challenges and work proactively toward solutions.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract requirements to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Serve as a primary contact for general contractors, owners, and other project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain consistent communication regarding schedules, progress, changes, and project needs.
  • Work closely with field personnel to resolve issues, coordinate resources, and support productive jobsite operations.
  • Develop positive working relationships with clients, vendors, and trade partners through responsiveness and follow-through.
  • Track project costs, labor performance, material expenses, and budget variances to support profitability.
  • Prepare and manage change orders, including documentation, pricing, and approvals.
  • Coordinate progress billing and maintain accurate records of completed work and stored materials.
  • Monitor project financial performance and communicate potential concerns or adjustments to management.
  • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, procurement logs, and change orders.
  • Coordinate material procurement, delivery schedules, and production requirements to support field activities.
  • Maintain accurate project records and ensure documentation remains current throughout construction.
  • Oversee punch list completion, final billing coordination, and project closeout activities.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience managing commercial construction projects, ideally for a specialty subcontractor or self-performing contractor. 3-7+ years commercial experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, project sequencing, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, procurement, change orders, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ability to independently manage assigned projects while collaborating effectively with senior management and field personnel.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and relationship management skills.
  • Comfortable balancing multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Experience with construction project management software and standard reporting/documentation tools.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to successfully complete applicable background screening.
