Job summary

Flare Construction, LLC, a Quanta Services Company, is seeking a Project Manager to lead civil construction projects from estimating through closeout. The role owns budget, schedule, and client coordination while supporting the estimating function.

The position is based out of the Coalville, UT home office with travel to project sites across the western U.S. Strong knowledge of project controls and software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or estimating civil construction projects (grading, earthwork, sitework, or related scope).
• Strong knowledge of project controls: scheduling, cost tracking, and budget forecasting.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Proficiency with construction management/estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid/HeavyJob, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the western U.S.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks.

• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and field personnel to keep projects aligned.

• Coordinate with Superintendents and Foremen on field execution and safety compliance.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability across the project team.

We're hiring a Project Manager to lead civil construction projects from estimating and preconstruction through execution and closeout. This role owns budget, schedule, and client coordination while also supporting the estimating function — building quantity takeoffs, cost projections, and competitive bids for civil earthwork and sitework packages.

What You’ll Work On

• Mass grading, cut/fill, soil stabilization, site prep, pad construction, and foundation prep
• Right-of-way preparation, environmental protection, and site remediation
• Renewables construction: wind, solar, and substation civil support work
• Asphalt, concrete, and landscape restoration
• Large-scale, multi-phase civil earthwork projects across a multi-state footprint, often running concurrently and spanning multi-year durations

What You’ll Bring

Location & Work Expectations

This position is based out of Flare Construction’s home office in Coalville, UT. Daily presence at the home office is expected unless assigned to a project site. Candidates must live within commuting distance of Coalville or be willing to relocate.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field or military experience considered
• Valid driver’s license; ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the western U.S.
