Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead complex initiatives across engineering, product, operations, and stakeholders in the United States. You will define scope, milestones and success criteria while delivering on time and within budget.

You will partner with multiple teams to optimize plans, manage risks, and drive effective communication. A PMP or equivalent certification is required, with travel to client sites and a focus on large, enterprise-scale programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, CS, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical project or program management in a technology environment.
  • PMI/ PMP or equivalent certification required.
  • 3+ years of experience managing technology engagements for State Health and Human Services agencies, preferably Child Welfare.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and drive cross-functional execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management and Agile methods.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or Microsoft ADO.
  • Experience in enterprise platform or cloud-based environments.
  • Experience leading large-scale or highly complex technical initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze data and create executive-level reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, RAID logs, and communication plans.
  • Coordinate resources, facilitate meetings, remove blockers, and drive issue resolution.
  • Track progress against commitments and manage scope changes; escalate risks as needed.
  • Support process improvement and establish PM best practices, tools, and standards.
  • Contribute to Business Development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams including engineering, product, operations, and stakeholders to define project scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and success criteria.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, status reports, RAID logs, and communication plans to keep stakeholders informed and projects on track.
  • Coordinate resources, facilitate meetings, drive issue resolution, and proactively remove blockers to support successful execution.
  • Track progress against commitments, manage scope changes, and elevate risks or impediments as needed to ensure project delivery.
  • Support process improvement efforts and help establish project management best practices, tools, and standards across the team.
  • Contribute to Business Development efforts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in technical project management, program management, or related roles in a technology environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent project or program management certification is required.
  • 3+ years of experience managing technology engagements for State Health and Human Services agencies, preferably Child Welfare.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive cross‑functional execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management and Agile methods.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Microsoft ADO.
  • Experience working in enterprise platform or cloud‑based technology environments.
  • Experience leading large‑scale or highly complex technical initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze data and create executive‑level reporting and presentations.
  • Must be able to travel to client site regularly.
  • Must be US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "PUBLIC TRUST"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
  • Candidates with an active PUBLIC TRUST or suitability are preferred.
