Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial Building Automation System and HVAC controls projects from kickoff through commissioning in Chantilly, VA.

You will manage budgets, schedules, technical teams, and subcontractors while ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction. The role offers steady full-time work with travel as needed and opportunities for leadership within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience managing BAS, controls, or systems integration projects.
• Experience budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, billing, and profitability.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, DDC controls, and sequences of operation.
• Ability to read control drawings, wiring diagrams, points lists, and specifications.
• Experience coordinating technical teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, Niagara, or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage BAS and HVAC controls projects from kickoff through closeout.
• Review contracts, estimates, scopes, control drawings, and sequences of operation.
• Develop project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and resource plans.
• Monitor project costs, margins, billing, cash flow, and profitability.
• Coordinate technicians, programmers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Oversee installation, programming, startup, commissioning, and customer training.
• Review points lists, wiring diagrams, equipment submittals, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate integration with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and third-party systems.
• Manage change orders, procurement, invoicing, punch lists, and project documentation.
• Communicate project progress, risks, and financial status to customers and leadership.

Position Overview

• Experience coordinating technical teams, vendors, and subcontractors
• Familiarity with BAS programming, startup, commissioning, and graphics
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, Niagara, or similar systems
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
