Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks a senior Project Manager 4 in the Project Analytics Division to lead cross-functional Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) delivering complex projects. Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking Project Manager 4 for the Project Analytics Division to lead cross-functional Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) in delivering complex projects. You will ensure project objectives meet the Project Owner's requirements while maintaining safety, quality, compliance, and cost and schedule commitments.
As a senior project manager, you will apply broad expertise to resolve complex challenges, develop effective project management approaches, and coordinate work across Laboratory organizations.
This position receives operational and functional direction from the Division Manager and provides technical and operational directions to assigned and deployed staff.
Key responsibilities include:
Minimum Job Requirements
Project Management: Thorough knowledge of project management tools and techniques, with demonstrated experience managing major, complex projects involving multiple organizations. Ability to manage scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and performance and implement effective corrective actions.
Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction operations, construction technologies, and job site management, including their interfaces and inter-dependencies. Broad knowledge of applicable industry standards.
Leadership and Resource Management: Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, direct assigned and deployed staff, coordinate workloads, resolve conflicts, and manage competing priorities.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to establish effective customer relationships and communicate project requirements, performance, and issues clearly to staff, management, and external stakeholders.
Control Account Management, When Assigned: Subject matter expertise and proven experience in project controls or project management, including cost estimating, budgeting, cost control and analysis, scheduling, variance analysis, corrective actions, and accurate status reporting. Expert knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes and sufficient engineering expertise to manage and monitor technical work.
Education
Position requires a bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, construction, business, or related field from an accredited institution and 12 years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Onsite / Hybrid: This position is located in Los Alamos, NM with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement (partially onsite/partially offsite) from a location within 2 hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite will be regularly required. Hybrid is at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice
Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
