Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking a Project Manager 2 in Los Alamos, NM to lead supply chain and manufacturing projects within a complex program environment. This role reports to the Program Manager and coordinates with functional teams, vendors, and leadership to ensure scope, schedule, and budget are met.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on delivery experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences across business and IT
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, or related field; 4+ years project management experience.
- PM certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, SAFe or equivalent Agile credential.
- Excellent communication and leadership with problem-solving and conflict-resolution.
- Experience in supply chain and manufacturing environments, ERP systems, and related processes.
- Ability to produce professional project charters, plans, and documents.
Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure timely completion of multi-discipline supply chain and manufacturing projects of low to moderate complexity and scope.
- Provide leadership throughout full project lifecycle using appropriate project management methodologies and tools.
- Oversee project teams in planning, tracking, and execution; transfer of operations at project completion.
- Develop and maintain project charters, PMPs, schedules, and other technical documentation.
- Coordinate activities of supply chain, manufacturing, and technical personnel to deliver products and projects.
- Identify, document, and manage project-level risks, issues, and dependencies; elevate cross-workstream impacts.
- Partner with customers to define expectations and mutual responsibilities.
- Coordinate with business owners, functional SMEs, and technical teams to support readiness and adoption.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills with demonstratedproblem-solving and conflict-resolution ability.
- Working knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing environments, ERP systems, and relevant methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Ability to produce professional project charters, project plans, and other technical and project documents.
- Ability to partner with customers to solve problems while defining expectations and mutual responsibilities.
- Ability to translate project management terminology for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiencywith standard project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent).
- Experience leading diverse development teams across different organizational contexts (varying team sizes, co-located vs. distributed, Agile vs. Waterfall).
- Experience working in a hybrid methodologyenvironment (Agile and Waterfall combined).
- Experience in technical writing, editing, and preparing and delivering formal and informal presentations.
- Familiarity with project management in government, federal agency, or regulated industry environments.
- DOE "Q" security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is a plus but not required.
- Highly organized with the ability to balance detailed task execution with broader program alignment.
- Strong senseof ownership and accountability for delivery outcomes.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity across teams.
- Proactive, collaborative, and effective at building strong partnerships across business, IT, and vendors.
- Able to onboard quickly and operatewith limited direction in a fast-moving program environment.
Engagement Type: Contract
Duration: 6-month initialcontract with extension potential
Location: Hybrid flexible location; candidates should be able to work within a reasonable commute or travel cadence as required by program needs.
This position offers flexibility in work location to attract the strongest candidates. Some onsite presence may be requiredperiodically based on program milestones and team activities.
