Overview

The Project Manager will join an AE team providing support in strategic project management, business analysis, process improvement, data analysis, requirements elicitation, implementation, and testing. The team is responsible for understanding the clients’ short and long-term vision, breaking down complex challenges into manageable projects, creating tailored solutions, and implementing and tracking projects’ progress and results. The team has a long track record of successfully managing processes and project improvements and operates in a collaborative manner, working together regularly to strategize and develop effective solutions.

To do this job well, you must be analytical, understand people, have business acumen, willing to serve many different roles, and want to learn fast. You will be responsible for leading initiatives within or across every business function supporting a federal agency (human resources, finance, procurement, IT, and facilities). You ask the hard, uncomfortable questions. You have executive communication skills to facilitate conversations with senior stakeholders. You know there are multiple answers to problems, and you know how to engage in a constructive dialogue to find the best path forward. You ensure alignment across diverse stakeholders, priorities, and operational requirements with effective communication to promote coordination and accountability.

You will be responsible for the planning, execution, implementation, training, and measurement of one to multiple projects and must be comfortable serving many roles in addition to project manager (ex. business analyst, trainer, tester, etc.). The Project Manager will drive project performance through effective stakeholder communication, data-driven decision-making, rigorous tracking of timelines, risks, deliverables, and requirement elicitation, management, and validation. Success in this role requires strong leadership, the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced federal consulting environment, and a commitment to delivering scalable, high-quality IT solutions.

The Project Manager’s initial portfolio could be focused on IT projects which could include new software or hardware, process re-engineering, application development, or other modernization efforts. The IT portfolio involves collaborating with teams spanning multiple functions (enterprise operations, networking, application development, records management, cybersecurity, asset management, etc.) as well as business units outside IT (Finance, Procurement, HR, Facilities, etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Serve as Project Manager and Business Analyst across various types of projects and stakeholders
  • Provide excellent customer service and liaise between clients, internal stakeholders, and/or external vendors
  • Support strategy and execution of process improvement initiatives
  • Manage senior stakeholder relationships and communications
  • Facilitate meetings to elicit and document requirements
  • Support business development initiatives such as client presentations and proposals
Requirements
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance (high)
  • Must be able to work full-time onsite in Washington, DC
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of business analysis or project management experience
  • Experience in managing multiple complex and cross-functional projects concurrently across diverse stakeholder groups (especially within an IT portfolio)
  • Experience presenting and facilitating meetings with executive leadership, subject matter experts, and staff members
  • Experience with current and future state analysis, requirements analysis, and gap analysis
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational abilities
  • Experience with data analysis, visualization, and data-driven decision making
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience managing projects deploying new software or hardware, developing applications, and other IT modernization efforts
  • Experience in a management consulting firm, particularly working with federal government clients
  • Agile Certification such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
