Job summary

Genuine Search Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead wet utilities and underground civil construction projects in Texas. You will oversee preconstruction through closeout, coordinating with field leadership, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and owners.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy civil/underground utility PM, with direct wet utility experience and strong budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder collaboration skills. Travel to Texas project sites will be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil or underground utility construction.
• Direct wet utility experience is required (waterline, sanitary sewer, storm drainage).
• Experience with a self-performing civil/utility contractor is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage heavy civil/wet utility projects from startup through completion.
• Oversee water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and related underground utility scopes.
• Manage project budgets, cost forecasting, schedules, procurement, and billing.
• Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and project documentation.
• Review plans, specifications, quantities, and project scopes.
• Coordinate with municipalities, inspectors, engineers, owners, and stakeholders.
• Track production, project costs, schedules, and profitability.
• Support project safety, quality, inspections, testing, and closeout.
• Visit active project sites throughout Texas as required.

Project Manager – Wet Utilities / Underground Infrastructure

Location: Texas

Compensation: $130,000–$175,000 base, depending on experience

I’m partnering with an established and growing Texas heavy civil contractor looking to add an experienced Project Manager to its team. This position is specifically focused on wet utility construction, so candidates should have direct experience managing underground water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage projects.

The Project Manager will be responsible for projects from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with field leadership, municipalities, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and ownership.

• Experience managing budgets, schedules, change orders, subcontractors, procurement, and project financials
• Ability to read civil plans, specifications, and utility drawings
• Strong communication and field coordination skills
• Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Texas as needed
