Job summary

Luxoft, a DXC company, seeks a Backend Project Manager / Product Owner for the Connected Vehicle initiative, overseeing cloud and AI architecture in a live fleet.

You will directly manage Cloud & AI Architects embedded with the customer team and help Product/Feature owners translate requirements into Epics and Features.

Role requires Agile experience (Scrum/SAFe), strong communication, risk management, and willingness to travel to Germany for workshops and knowledge transfer.

Our client is advancing its in-vehicle voice assistant into an intelligent, AI-powered companion. Large-language-model capabilities (Azure OpenAI / ChatGPT) have been running in production across vehicles with new E³-architecture models featuring enhanced voice functions from the factory. The customer backend is the cloud AI orchestration service behind this: it receives requests from the vehicle, classifies and routes them, orchestrates the LLM, tool services and specialised agents, and returns an answer or action to the car. DXC Luxoft serves as the end-to-end delivery partner, working in a joint product team with the client's engineers on the Azure platform (AKS, Azure OpenAI, AI Foundry, Managed Identity, Azure Monitor, Azure DevOps). This role owns the architecture of the backend service in series operation — a system that is already live across a large vehicle fleet and must stay available and backward-compatible while significant new capability is added: streaming across the full ASR → LLM → TTS chain, multi-intent handling, barge-in, a guardrails layer for deterministic vehicle-safe answers, agent routing, and new tool integrations. It also owns the vehicle backend interface contract: how the car talks to backend, across several vehicle generations at once.

Responsibilities

• As a Backend Project manager /Product Owner within the Connected Vehicle, you will be a direct manager of the team of Cloud Architects & AI Architects who are embedded in a joint team with the customer.The role also involves supporting Product/Feature owners to consolidate system requirements into Epics/Features.

SKILLS

Must have

• Cloud Solutions Experience: Proven experience working on high-scale cloud solutions projects.- Ability to communicate advanced and complex concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business- Project Management: Proven experience in project management.- Risk Management: Proactive in identifying and managing risks.- Negotiation skills - including but not limited to conflict resolution, problem-solving and decision-making- Leadership skills - including but not limited to mentoring, coaching, and training abilities.- Agile practitioner having extensive experience with Agile Methodologies ( Scrum, SAFe etc)- Proactive Attitude: A proactive mindset, taking ownership and responsibility for one's work.- Self-Organization: High level of self-organization with a strong willingness to address process chaos and untangle complexities.- English C1 — daily technical communication with the client's engineers and the onshore team.- - German language proficiency (at least B2)- Working-hours overlap with CET sufficient for daily alignment, and willingness to travel to Germany for knowledge transfer, workshops and integration phases — including an intensive onboarding/takeover period at project start.
