Job summary

SolvOne is expanding our Project Team with a Fuels Project Manager to oversee underground storage tank (UST) replacements and related fuel-system construction projects across multiple locations.

You will coordinate planning, site coordination, and construction through startup and closeout, acting as the central point between customers, contractors, regulators, vendors, and A&E firms to ensure safety, compliance, and on-time delivery.

SolvOne is expanding our Project Team!

SolvOne is seeking an experienced Fuels Project Manager to manage underground storage tank (UST) replacements and related fuel-system construction projects across multiple locations. This position will oversee projects from initial planning and site coordination through construction, startup, and closeout. The Fuels Project Manager will serve as a central point of coordination between customers, contractors, equipment vendors, regulatory agencies, A&E firms, and other project stakeholders to help ensure projects are completed safely, compliantly, on schedule, and in accordance with the approved scope of work.

Responsibilities

• Manage underground storage tank replacement and related petroleum construction projects from planning through completion and closeout.


• Review project scope, site information, drawings, schedules, contractor proposals, and other project documentation to identify requirements and potential project risks.


• Coordinate project activities with customer representatives, general contractors, petroleum contractors, environmental consultants, equipment vendors, and other stakeholders.


• Coordinate permitting, inspections, testing, and regulatory requirements associated with UST and fuel-system construction projects.


• Track project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and critical activities to help ensure projects remain on schedule.


• Coordinate site shutdowns, tank removal and installation activities, piping and fueling-system work, testing, inspections, startup, and return-to-service activities as applicable.


• Monitor contractor progress and follow up on open issues, delays, deficiencies, and outstanding deliverables.


• Review field conditions and project changes and coordinate resolution of scope, schedule, or construction issues.


• Compare completed work against approved plans, scopes of work, and customer requirements.


• Develop and maintain punch lists and track outstanding items through completion.


• Maintain accurate project records, schedules, status reports, issue logs, photographs, permits, inspection documentation, and closeout records.


• Provide regular project updates to customers and internal stakeholders, including schedule status, open issues, risks, and required decisions.


• Escalate issues that may affect safety, regulatory compliance, cost, schedule, or successful project completion.


• Manage multiple projects in different phases and geographic locations simultaneously.


• Conduct or participate in site visits, construction meetings, project walks, punch walks, and final inspections as required.


• Coordinate travel efficiently to support assigned projects.


• Follow all customer safety, confidentiality, documentation, and site-access requirements.

Qualifications

• Project management experience within the petroleum, fueling, UST, or retail fuel construction industry required.


• Direct experience managing underground storage tank replacement, tank modification, fuel-system construction, or major petroleum equipment projects strongly preferred.


• Working knowledge of UST systems and petroleum construction, including tanks, piping, dispensers, sumps, spill containment, leak detection, and associated fueling equipment.


• Familiarity with permitting, inspections, environmental requirements, and regulatory processes associated with UST construction and replacement projects.


• Experience coordinating petroleum contractors, general contractors, environmental consultants, equipment vendors, inspectors, and customer stakeholders.


• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, scopes of work, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.


• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, locations, contractors, and deadlines.


• Strong project planning, organization, documentation, and follow-through skills.


• Ability to identify project risks, anticipate potential delays, and drive issues toward resolution.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, contractors, customers, and leadership.


• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage priorities without continuous supervision.


• Proficiency with standard business applications and the ability to learn customer-specific project management and reporting systems.


• Ability to efficiently manage geographically dispersed projects.
