Job summary

LeverageTek Staffing Solutions in Canada is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver large, strategic initiatives in public sector environments. You will shape objectives, scope, milestones, and governance, aligning cross‑functional teams to measurable outcomes.

This remote role requires 7+ years of PM experience, exceptional stakeholder communication, and the ability to manage risks and dependencies in complex programs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management experience on high-profile, complex initiatives.
• Senior-level planning, stakeholder communication, problem-solving, and managing ambiguity.
• Experience presenting to and aligning senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to initiate and plan projects including objectives, scope, milestones.
• Translate target state into workstreams and a practical roadmap.
• Identify decision-makers and governance structures.
• Capture business needs, requirements, and constraints.
• Develop PM plans to ensure on-time delivery and cost management.
• Monitor status, risks, issues, and action items.
• Ensure change management and stakeholder communications are incorporated.
• Coordinate with departments on project estimation and variance control.
• Support phase 0 implementation for a new strategic initiative.
• Manage cross-project dependencies across business, technical, and operational teams.

Key Tasks

• Collaborate with others to initiate and plan projects through activities such as defining objectives, scope, assumptions, milestones, dependencies, and initial delivery approach
• Translate project target state into workstreams, sequencing, resource needs, and a practical roadmap
• Identify decision-makers, subject matter experts, and governance structure
• Help teams capture business needs, implementation requirements, and constraints
• Develop project management plans to ensure goal alignment, clear scope of work, on‑time delivery, resource availability, and effective cost management
• Monitor and manage project status, risks, issues, and action items
• Ensure organizational change management, stakeholder management, and communication plans are incorporated
• Work with other departments on best approach to project estimation and variance control
• Support phase 0 implementation activities for a new strategic initiative
• Manage cross-project dependencies and support effective coordination across business, technical, and operational teams

Key Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management experience managing high-profile, complex strategic initiatives in large organizations
• Demonstrated senior‑level expertise in planning, stakeholder communication, problem‑solving, and managing ambiguity, risks, and dependencies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to and aligning senior stakeholders

Qualifications

• Experience working within a public sector or regulated industry environment
• Familiarity with SDLC/iDLC methodologies and architecture standards
• Knowledge of modern PM and delivery best practices
• Prior experience with or knowledge of the business environment is considered an asset
• PMP or equivalent project management certification is an asset
