Job summary

A surveying firm in Tacoma is seeking a Project Manager to oversee land surveying projects from proposal to final deliverables. Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates.
  • Coordinate utility locates, title reports, and project drawings.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients throughout the project.
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with field crews and CAD staff for project accuracy.
  • Track project progress and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Manage contracts, billing, and invoicing.
  • Ensure timely delivery of final survey products.

Job description

Informed Land Survey (ILS) is a well-established, fast-growing surveying firm serving public and private clients throughout the Puget Sound region. We are seeking a Project Manager with experience in land surveying—or a strong understanding of survey workflows—who excels in client communication, coordination, and project organization.

As a Project Manager, you’ll oversee projects from the initial proposal to final deliverables. You will act as the central point of communication for clients, title companies, utility providers, and internal teams. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, communicates clearly, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
What You’ll Do
  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
  • Coordinate utility locates, title reports, project drawings, and other documents needed for survey work
  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
  • Collaborate closely with field crews and CAD staff to ensure accurate and complete project information
  • Track project progress and adjust schedules as needed
  • Manage contracts, billing, change orders, and monthly invoicing
  • Ensure timely delivery of final survey products
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in land surveying or strong familiarity with survey project processes
  • Understanding of utilities, title documentation, and project coordination
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus
  • Professional, reliable, and client-service oriented
