Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Project Manager to be based in Signal Hill, Pleasant Hill, or Fullerton, CA. You will lead a diverse team of scientists and engineers, manage projects in brownfields redevelopment, groundwater/soil characterization, remediation, and water resources.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Environmental Science, 8+ years in the field, strong technical writing, and business development experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Science or related field.
• 8+ years of environmental/remediation experience with technical writing, oversight, PM, business development, and staff management.
• Experience with oil & gas, manufacturing, utilities, landfills, and chlorinated solvent sites preferred.
• Proven track record in business development and project management.
• Strong technical writing, multitasking, safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead on cumulative project total of $2M to $3M annually.
• Contribute to successful business development of new clients and projects >$500K annually.
• Write and review technical reports and proposals.
• Assist with project management activities.
• Mentor and train scientific staff and ensure quality work product.
• Actively develop your own career growth.

APEX is seeking a Project Manager to be based in Signal Hill, Pleasant Hill, or Fullerton, CA.

Our Pleasant Hill Practice is home to a multidisciplinary team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers who collaborate on a wide variety of project types and environmental contaminants. Your Responsibilities as a Project Manager:

• Serve as technical lead on cumulative project total of $2M to $3M annually.
• Contribute to successful business development of new clients and projects at greater than $500K annually.
• Write and review technical reports and proposals.
• Assist with project management activities.
• Ability to grow an existing bustling practice in one of the following areas: brownfields redevelopment, groundwater/soil characterization and remediation, landfill engineering, or water resources;
• Augment a busy established, successful practice
• Identifying and developing successful client relationships and new business development opportunities with public and private clients on local, regional or national basis; business development of $400,000 annual revenue
• Mentor and train scientific staff and ensure quality work product.
• Actively develop your own career growth.

What we're looking for:

• BS in Environmental Science or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience with environmental/remediation services, including technical writing, technical oversight, project management, business development, and staff management.
• Experience with oil & gas, manufacturing industries, utilities, landfills, and chlorinated solvent sites highly desired, Potentially Responsible Parties (PRP) groups, municipalities. (preferred)
• Proven track record in business development and project management experience, a plus.
• Proven track record of mentoring and developing staff. (preferred)
• Strong technical writing skills, the ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with Deltek Vision is preferred.

Annual Expected Pay Range: $100,000 — $130,000 USD
