As a Project Manager at Shimmick, you will manage all phases of construction, ensuring safety, compliance, and timely delivery while coordinating with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and field crews.
Responsibilities
- Implement the company Health, Safety, and Environmental Program on the project.
- Manage the project budget and financial well‑being.
- Determine project staff needs, delegate responsibilities, and develop highly effective teams.
- Plan and manage resources, including company resources, third‑party vendors, designers, fabricators, and contractors.
- Coordinate all subcontractors, procurements, submittals, quality control, and critical‑path construction schedules.
- Direct the full engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction management, and commissioning team to deliver the project within cost and schedule.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key clients who have future work in the area.
- Represent the company and project interests with relevant third‑party agencies.
- Prepare and issue progress reports and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory statutes and Shimmick policies.
- Manage project stakeholder relationships and interfaces.
- Create and implement project updates, job status reports, and quarterly EAC reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience managing heavy civil construction projects exceeding $15 million.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and risk mitigation.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction projects.
- Experience with water and wastewater treatment plants, concrete structures, electrical, transit, and underground utilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Primavera P6.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.
- Independent work ability with excellent prioritization.
- Highly organized with excellent time‑management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong project‑management skills with ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands.

- Position based in the greater Seattle area.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 – $200,000 per year, depending on experience and education.
