Job summary

Shimmick Corporation is looking for a talented Project Scheduler to support various infrastructure projects located in Dallas, Texas or other areas. This dynamic role offers long-term growth within a leading infrastructure company known for innovation and market leadership.

We're seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in project scheduling, particularly with heavy civil infrastructure. Proficiency in scheduling software and good teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant project scheduling experience.
  • Experience with Heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to develop basic engineering, procurement, and construction logic.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct schedule analysis and variance investigations.
  • Support development and maintenance of work breakdown structures.
  • Assist in schedule updating and report preparation.

Skills

Knowledge of planning and scheduling concepts
Proficiency in P6 scheduling software
Understanding of CPM scheduling
Effective team collaboration
Experience with cost analysis and earned value performance

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Project Scheduler to be based in southern California, northern California, or the Dallas, Texas area. Responsibilities
  • Knowledgeable of planning and scheduling concepts and principles including effects on financial performance.
  • Familiar with data sources and supports basic schedule development.
  • Supports analysis of schedule, identifies and investigates project schedule variances.
  • Collects and updates data and produces scheduling reports.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of WBS and support activities to implement applicable coding. Supports basic schedule development.
  • Supports gathering and assembling data for schedule updating.
  • Supports measurement of project schedule progress and gathers and assembles data for schedule and network updating.
  • Gathers data for schedule baseline development and maintenance.
  • Familiar with construction drawings, specifications and construction contracting methods.
  • Understands CPM scheduling concepts and principles and able to develop basic engineering, procurement and construction logic.
  • Understands concepts and principles of scope control and change management and earned value methodology.
  • Supports monthly report preparation.
  • May participate in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issues.
  • Exposure to basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field + 4 years of relevant project scheduling experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Proficiency in P6 scheduling software.
  • Experience scheduling Heavy civil infrastructure projects (bridge structures, rail/transit projects, dams, piers, water/wastewater treatment plants etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years' project scheduling experience.
  • Scheduling experience on two projects within the past 5 years related to heavy civil construction.
  • Experience in heavy civil or industrial EPC/maintenance projects, specifically in cost control, planning and scheduling positions, or previous field engineering experience with emphasis on reporting and tracking of productivity and costs.
  • Experience in setup of work breakdown structure and establishing levels of control.
  • Experience in cost analysis, forecasting, progress measurement and earned value performance (EVMS).
  • Experience in risk analysis, contingency management, change control, and Time-Impact Analysis.
  • Experience with alternative project delivery methodologies (CM/GC, CMAR, Progressive Design-Build, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively in a project team environment.
  • Software experience including CMIC, MS Office Excel, or other EVMS programs (Deltek Cobra, PRISM, etc.).

The salary range for this position is between $115,000 - $160,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.

Shimmick's comprehensive benefits plan includes medical, dental and vision coverage; as well as options to participate in an FSA or HSA. The Company also provides employer‑paid STD, LTD, basic life and AD&D, and an Employee Assistance Program. Additional voluntary benefit offerings include pet insurance, hospital indemnity, critical illness insurance, legal and identity theft protection.

These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
