Job summary

Harvard Bioscience in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an energetic Project Manager to plan and execute activities for new product development. You will ensure projects stay within scope, on time, and within budget, with reporting to the Vice President of Research and Development.

The role requires 5+ years in project management, experience in engineering or product development, and PMP or similar certification is preferred. Travel to our Asia office will be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience building high quality products in China.
  • Working experience in engineering or product development environment.
  • Ability to manage complex projects to develop ecosystems of hardware and systems.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or a technical field.
  • 5+ years of project management and related experience.
  • PMP or other certification strongly preferred.
  • Nice to have speaking Mandarin.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives.
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules and work plans.
  • Track project costs to meet budget.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Report project status to stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Utilize industry best practices and standards throughout project execution.
  • Monitor progress and adjust as needed.
  • Measure and report project performance to identify improvements.

The Opportunity

The company is looking for an energetic Project Manager to plan and execute activities for new product development. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered within scope, on-time, and within budget. This role is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota and require travel to our office in Asia and reports to the Vice President, Research and Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources (internal and external to department and company) in an effective and efficient manner
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules and work plans
  • Track project costs to meet budget
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Report project status on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor progress and adjust as needed
  • Measure and report project performance to identify areas for improvement
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or a technical field
