Job summary

Actalent in Rogers, MN is seeking a Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead complex commercial projects from inception to closeout. You will manage budgets, schedules, RFI/submittals, subcontractor buyouts, and stakeholder relations within a team-focused, values-driven culture.

Applicants should have 5+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor, strong budgeting and scheduling skills, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing projects as a Project Manager for a Commercial General Contractor.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in commercial construction.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction plans and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong math and analytical skills for budgeting, cost control, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
  • Construction management and estimation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all stages of the project life cycle from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Create, manage, and track project budgets to ensure financial performance and cost control.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitoring progress and adjusting as needed.
  • Manage the RFI and submittal processes to ensure timely and accurate communication.
  • Lead project buyout activities, including procurement and negotiation with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Prepare, manage, and administer subcontracts throughout the project.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee cost management and reporting, providing regular updates on financial status and forecasts.
  • Identify, address, and manage the resolution of project issues and conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Manage project staff, providing direction, coordination, and support to ensure successful delivery.
  • Lead and coordinate the project closeout process, ensuring all documentation and punch lists are completed.
