Location: Providence, Rhode Island
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager / Owner’s Representative to support major building and capital improvement projects throughout the Providence, RI area. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between the Owner, design teams, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders, helping drive projects from early planning and design through construction and final closeout.
Projects will include work associated with the Rhode Island Convention Center and Brown University Health, providing exposure to complex, high-profile institutional and commercial building programs.
Key Responsibilitie
- sRepresent and advise project Owners throughout all phases of the construction lifecycle, from initial planning and design through construction, commissioning, and closeout
- .Oversee project performance with particular focus on cost, schedule, scope, quality, and risk management
- .Manage multiple active projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including project controls professionals, schedulers, estimators, field representatives, consultants, and technical specialists
- .Organize and facilitate Owner, design, and construction meetings, ensuring key decisions, action items, and outstanding issues are properly documented and addressed
- .Review architectural and engineering documents throughout the design process and provide input regarding constructability, phasing, cost, scheduling, and value engineering opportunities
- .Coordinate procurement activities involving architects, engineers, general contractors, construction managers, specialty consultants, and third-party vendors
- .Develop, monitor, and maintain overall project budgets, cash-flow projections, cost forecasts, and Estimates at Completion (EAC)
- .Review contractor proposals, change orders, claims, and change requests and evaluate their potential impact on project cost and schedule
- .Identify potential project risks, delays, or cost issues and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies
- .Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients to support informed project and investment decisions
- .Monitor construction progress and communicate regular project updates to Owners and senior stakeholders
- .Assist clients with overall project strategy, including identifying critical decisions required to maintain schedule and budget objectives
- .Support project closeout activities and ensure contractual, financial, and documentation requirements are completed
Qualificatio
- nsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related technical disciplin
- e.Minimum of 10 years of experience managing building construction, capital improvement, or complex facilities project
- s.Strong experience working on both public and private-sector building project
- s.Previous experience working in an Owner’s Representative, Construction Management, Program Management, or senior Project Management capacity is strongly preferre
- d.CCM, AIA, or Professional Engineer (PE) credentials are preferred. Candidates should either hold an applicable credential or have the ability to obtain the required certification/licensure after joinin
- g.Strong understanding of construction budgets, schedules, change management, procurement, design coordination, and project control
- s.Ability to effectively manage architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholder
- s.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact directly with Owners and senior-level stakeholder
- s.Must reside in, or be within reasonable commuting distance of, the Providence, Rhode Island are
- a.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between project locations throughout the Providence are
