The Project Manager must maintain a comprehensive understanding of project scope, objectives, and deliverables, as well as the roles and responsibilities of all team members. This position is responsible for assembling and leading the appropriate project team, assigning responsibilities, identifying required resources, and developing detailed schedules to ensure successful project execution. Projects are managed from initial concept through final implementation.

Responsibilities

  • The Project Manager interfaces with all stakeholders impacted by the project, including internal teams, end users, distributors, vendors, and external partners.
  • This role ensures adherence to applicable quality standards and conducts final reviews of project deliverables.
  • The Project Manager may also communicate project status, risks, and performance metrics to executive leadership and business unit leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; Business Administration degrees will be considered when combined with a strong background in technical design and execution of complex custom equipment.
  • Several years of experience in high‑technology or advanced capital equipment environments, including design, build, installation, scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and quality.
  • 5–10+ years of project management experience within a manufacturing environment; PMP certification is a plus.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience managing and controlling budgets, scopes of work, schedules, personnel, and material resources in complex organizational environments.
  • Experience using MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) with MS Project experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, influence management, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, executive leadership, project managers, and support staff.
  • Exceptional documentation skills to ensure project requirements, expectations, and commitments are clearly defined and agreed upon by all stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills, with the ability to develop high‑quality project deliverables, briefings, and records.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025, or equivalent quality standards and procedures preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and collaborating with technical professionals, including Project Engineers, Staff Engineers, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%. Due to travel, US Passport preferred.
  • Position is on premises in Plymouth, Michigan.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working within ERP systems is required, including the ability to generate reports for project tracking and ensure the accuracy and integrity of reported data.
