Job summary

Micro Control Company is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead complex cross-functional projects from initiation through completion in our Minneapolis area facility. Anchored in the Project Management Department, you will report to the Senior Engineering Project Manager and guide strategic execution within scope, budget, and timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in project management or project engineering including experience leading cross-functional technical projects.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects of moderate to high complexity.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools including MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira, etc.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while driving collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of comprehensive project plans, goals, scope, deliverables, timelines, and budgets. Establish KPIs and success metrics to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead, mentor and influence cross-functional teams by assigning responsibilities, facilitating meetings, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Liaise with functional and site leadership to synchronize internal resources and capacity.
  • Implement project plans effectively, track progress diligently, manage changes proactively, and ensure timely completion of tasks while optimizing cost and resource allocation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, delivering clear, data-driven project updates, risk assessments and strategic recommendations to leadership.
  • Proactively identify potential project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and preventive measures.
  • Uphold high standards of quality throughout the project lifecycle and document processes and outcomes.

Job Summary:

This position is anchored within our Project Management Department, reports to our Senior Engineering Project Manager, and operates under limited supervision and is responsible for leading complex cross-functional projects from initiation through completion. The role drives strategic execution while ensuring alignment with company's development procedures, scope, budgetary constraints, and established timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning: Lead the development of comprehensive project plans, goals, scope, deliverables, timelines, and budgets. and timelines to ensure all aspects of the project are strategically aligned and executed. Establish KPIs and success metrics to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, mentor and influence cross-functional teams by assigning responsibilities, facilitating meetings, and fostering a collaborative environment that maximizes individual and collective strengths. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strategize and adapt plans in response to evolving requirements.
  • Resource Management: Liaise with functional and site leadership to synchronize internal resources and capacity, ensuring optimal support for project timelines and delivery commitments.
  • Execution & Monitoring: Implement project plans effectively, track progress diligently, manage changes proactively, and ensure timely completion of tasks while optimizing cost and resource allocation. Drive execution of medium to high-complexity projects, ensuring adherence to company processes and governance standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, including customers. Deliver clear, concise and date-driven project updates, risk assessments and strategic recommendations to leadership. Coordinate and lead site visits and technical reviews.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify potential project risks and issues, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies, corrective actions, and preventive measures to minimize impact and ensure project integrity.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards of quality throughout the project lifecycle and ensure proper documentation of processes and outcomes to support transparency and knowledge sharing. Promote best practice and continuous improvement methodologies across teams.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
