Job summary

Audubon Companies is seeking a Project Manager to lead projects from initiation through completion at our Houston, TX office. The role requires directing work plans, coordinating resources, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to Audubon standards and client expectations.

The candidate will oversee project teams, engage with clients, and drive continuous improvement across program performance, schedule adherence, and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and 7+ years of on-the-job training education.
• BS in Engineering or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of industry related experience as a Project Engineer or similar role.
• 10 years of field experience working within the Oil & Gas or Hydrocarbon Processing industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall project direction, coordination, and execution for large EPC projects.
• Develop and manage work plans, budgets, and invoicing.
• Ensure compliance with Audubon standards and QA procedures.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Finance and Accounting for timely delivery.
• Mentor and coach project engineers and coordinators; develop their skills.
• Drive change management and risk mitigation within projects.

Audubon is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. The Project Manager will be accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of complex and/or large projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
• Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
• Effectively applies Audubon methodology and enforces project standards.
• Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
• Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Manages the project budget.
• Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for projects.
• Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
• Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, efficiency and utilization.
• Remains completely accessible to client 24/7 during life of project and provides single point of contact, ensuring specific requests are processed timely and appropriately.
• Drives Management of Change philosophy and enforces corresponding procedures.
• Manages the overall execution of T&M or small to midsized (<$50MM) EPC projects.
• Supervises project engineers, coordinators and admins.
• Participates as a contributing member of assigned Business Unit.
• Consistently acknowledges and appreciates each team member's contributions.
• Effectively utilizes each team member to his/her full potential.
• Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
• Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members.
• Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
• Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
• Leads and/or acts as a member of internal teams/task forces.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate’s degree AND 7+ years of On-the-Job Training Education.
• Preferred: BS Engineering, MBA.
• Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years of industry related experience as a Project Engineer or similar role.
• Experience Preferred: 10 years of field experience working within the Oil & Gas or Hydrocarbon Processing industries.
• Organizes and develops highly functional and effective project teams.
• Works to instill a sense of project ownership and accountability in the project team.
• Coordinates and works with other departments (Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Finance and Accounting) to ensure the timely delivery of quality goods and services which meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.
• Provides active coaching and mentoring to Project Engineers and/or Coordinators assigned to him/her. Takes an active role in developing their skills and progressing them professionally.
• Identifies opportunities for team member improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
• Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures.
