ARCO Murray Construction Company, a nationally ranked commercial design/build company, is hiring Project Managers in Orlando and Tampa, Florida. Relocation assistance available!

OPPORTUNITY:

As an office-based Project Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset, you will lead design/build projects from inception to completion. This unique role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and takes full ownership of each project. Work closely and collaboratively with dedicated Site Superintendents as you oversee all phases of design and construction, including estimating, design, permitting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, client communication, and quality control.

As the central point of contact for all stakeholders, you will ensure timelines and budgets are met while upholding our standards for excellence. Reporting to the Vice Presidents of the Florida business units, tap into your motivation to manage all the details of the project with your high standard of performance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Leadership:

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of the project from early stages of preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors aimed at adding value to designs and solving potential scheduling and constructability issues while maintaining cost control.
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly meetings on-site once construction begins.

Project Review:

  • Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts.
  • Work with the Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan.
  • Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment when advantageous to the project.

Performance:

  • Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budgets.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
  • Track and manage all project financial performance vs budget, including preparing cost status reports, preparing owner pay applications, and reviewing subcontractor billings.
  • Make the construction process enjoyable for our associates, clients, subcontractors, and vendors without sacrificing QUALITY or SAFETY!!

SUCCESS FACTORS:

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial construction project management or engineering design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Experience leading commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, self-storage, or entertainment construction projects.
  • Proven organizational talents with ability to assess and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced setting, with a proactive approach to resolving challenges.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality results with a dedicated and solution-driven mindset.
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar projects, with a focus on budget, compliance, and successful delivery.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
