Job summary

Lear Corporation in Novi, MI is seeking a Project Manager to own projects from quote hand-off to close, providing client support and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. You will define objectives, timelines and critical elements to drive successful delivery.

Responsibilities include leading design/build communication, status reporting, and driving issue resolution while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to budget. A disciplined, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• 7+ years of experience in industrial automation or engineering services industry.
• 4+ years of experience in Project Management.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for projects, including scope, risk, timing, cost, and quality.
• As the customer main point of contact, communicate and facilitate the design and build process to ensure satisfaction.
• Report status updates to the customer and in-house teams; share lessons learned.
• Drive the team, promoting cooperation, conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Monitor costs and ensure projects stay within budget; alert management at 80% usage.
• Log RFQs and develop quotes; enter job into Lear Novi system after receipt of PO.
• Develop basic timelines and kickoff meetings with leaders in Lear Novi.
• Maintain a issues list and drive weekly progress toward resolution.
• Communicate timing for in-house run-off and shipping arrangements.

Job Description

As a Project Manager you will have project ownership from quote hand off to project close, providing customer support & communication, and ultimately responsible for the related activities performed by multi-disciplined cross functional teams. We take a disciplined approach to project management, clearly defining objectives, timing, and critical elements to ensure success.

Responsibilities

• You will provide leadership forprojects including scope, risk,timing, cost, and quality.
• As the customer main point of contact, you will spend most of your time communicating and facilitating the design and build process and ensuring customer satisfaction.This will include weekly updates and direct communication with the customer to resolve open issues.
• During the project you will report status updates, to both the customer and in house teams. After project completion you will share best practices and lessons learned in monthly BP review.
• Act as the driving force for the team, promoting cooperation, conflict resolution & negotiation.
• Understand the financial details and budget of each assigned project. Ensure that the projects stay within budget and alert management when the job approaches 80% of budget.
• Log and review RFQ’s
• Develop quote and submit quote to Lear
  • Reiterate scope in the quote to match SOW or line up from team requesting the quote.
• Upon receipt of P.O., enter the job into the Lear Novi system.
• Develop basic timeline and kickoff the job with a meeting with all leaders in Lear Novi that will impact the job.
• Develop issues list. Communicate the issues list weekly and strive daily to close open issues. PM’s main focus at this point of the job is to drive resolution to allow the team to complete the job.
• Review costs regularly to ensure job stays in budget.
• Communicate to the customer timing for inhouse run off and any shipping arrangements that need to be made.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineeringor equivalent combination of experience and education.

Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in industrial automation or engineering services industry.
• 4+ years of experience in Project Management.
