Job summary

Mindlance is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to drive a cross-functional SAP ERP modernization initiative in a major banking program. You will lead schedule, risk, budget, governance, and readiness activities, coordinating business, operations, and technology teams.

Preferred candidates have SAP ERP project experience, strong stakeholder relationships, and a PM mindset capable of handling large data sets and vendor resources across multiple workstreams.

Qualifications

• Major financial institution transformative program and/or project management experience.
• Prior SAP ERP project experience (preferably S/4HANA related to BDC, Group Reporting or Project Systems).
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple partners and large data sets.
• Strong stakeholder relationship skills for cross-team collaboration and leadership level communication.
• Experience driving large scale tech-focused programs with internal and vendor resources.
• Ability to create and drive parallel project/workstream schedules.
• Proactive, driven PM mindset; ability to navigate problems with limited context.
• Translate process owner conversations into strategic project plans and schedules.
• Knowledge of risk management routines and governance activities.
• Experience with Rally and GAAP/regulatory considerations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate with managers and SMEs to drive project activities and issue resolution.
• Lead business, operations, and technology leads to support program needs.
• Ensure activities align to benefits realization and business outcomes.
• Develop and maintain project risk management plans and adherence to requirements.
• Follow PMLC, governance, and risk routines throughout the project life cycle.
• Engage stakeholders to identify dependencies and mitigate cross-team concerns.
• Lead discussions to resolve issues and keep schedule with risk mitigation.
• Manage multiple internal and external teams on a project basis.
• Forecast and track budgets; report variances per finance processes.
• Prepare dashboards, status reports, and governance materials for leadership.

• Support the CTI-391 SAP ERP Modernization Implementation initiative.
• This is a large, cross-functional transformation program involving business, operations, technology, and other key stakeholder groups.
• The Project Manager will drive project execution, stakeholder alignment, risk management, schedules, financial tracking, governance, and readiness activities through successful delivery..

Role Responsibilities: (what they will be doing)

• Plan and coordinate closely with business/function area managers, cross-functional subject matter experts, and key project team members to drive project activities and issue resolution.
• Work closely with and provide direction to business, operations, and technology leads to support program needs.
• Ensure project activities remain aligned to expected benefits realization and business outcomes.
• Develop and maintain appropriate project risk management plans and ensure adherence to company requirements.
• Follow PMLC methodology, risk management routines, and project governance activities.
• Engage key stakeholders to identify, understand, and mitigate cross-team concerns, dependencies, and differences.
• Lead discussions to develop resolution paths and keep project activities on schedule with appropriate risk mitigation.
• Lead multiple teams of internal and/or external resources on a project basis.
• Manage project budget forecasts and actuals in accordance with finance and reporting processes.
• Create, maintain, analyze, and manage project schedules and variances; develop recommendations and action plans to address negative variances and project issues.
• Prepare executive dashboards and project health reporting for key leadership stakeholders.
• Prepare project documentation, presentations, status reports, and other materials supporting workstream and governance activities.
• Proactively engage stakeholders to plan, manage, and mitigate risks associated with key deliverables and critical-path activities.
• Coordinate project-related change and support readiness planning, including client communications, teammate communications, and teammate training.

Must Have Skills/Prior Experiences: (Vendor should not submit any candidate that does not have these skills/prior experience.)

• Major financial institution (Category 1 or 2 bank) transformative program and/or project management experience.
• Prior SAP ERP project experience (preferably recent experience with SAP S/4 Hana related to Business Data Cloud (BDC), Group Reporting, and/or Project Systems).
• Proven ability to effectively manage complex projects and initiatives, including multiple business partners across different areas as well as large / complex data sets; demonstrated organization skills.
• Proven stakeholder relationship building skills to engage and drive cross team collaboration at the project member and senior management stakeholder levels. Ability to communicate project status with equal effectiveness at all leadership and team member levels from both a project execution and business progression terms.
• Experienced in driving large scale tech-focused programs/projects with large internal and vendor resource teams.
• Ability to create and drive multiple project/workstream schedules in parallel.
• Proactive/driven project management mindset and approach.
• Able to dive into problems with limited background context and help to drive stakeholder group through resolution option identification, resolution option reviews, and resolution option selection activities..

Plus/Nice to Have Skills/Prior Experiences:(Hiring Manager DOES NOT require these skills/ prior experience. However candidates with any of these will be looked at first.)

• Background in Accounting and Finance as either a business unit stakeholder or project management role with experience ensuring GAAP compliance, regulatory reporting, and profitability.
• Experience with SAP S/4 HANA.
• Prior experience with system and user acceptance test planning activities.
• Experience with AI and automation strategy development and execution.
• Experience with data strategy development and execution.
• Prior experience with Rally tool.
• PMP certification.

Ability to translate conversations with process owners and stakeholders into effective strategic plans, project objectives, and schedules to achieve expected project outcomes.
