Job summary

Private Family Office in Manhattan seeks an experienced Project Manager to support Project Directors in delivering a portfolio of luxury residential and hospitality projects. You will manage multiple active sites, collaborating with architects, designers, engineers, contractors and vendors to ensure exceptional quality and on-schedule delivery.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of project management, construction management or closely related experience.
  • Meaningful experience delivering luxury residential or high-end hospitality projects is required.
  • Strong exposure to active construction sites and hands-on project execution is essential.
  • Experience working for a general contractor or construction management firm is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates from architecture, design or development backgrounds may be considered if their experience includes significant on-site responsibility for high-end construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with architects, designers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project sequencing, punch lists, closeout and high-end finishes and details.
  • Professional and polished communication style with the confidence to work effectively with senior leaders, consultants and project partners.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership, anticipates needs and is comfortable operating with a high degree of initiative.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline preferred; advanced degree a plus.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Manhattan and travel approximately 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Directors in planning, execution and delivery of multiple active construction projects, typically managing responsibilities across approximately 4–6 projects at a time.
  • Participate in projects from planning and pre-construction through active construction, punch list, closeout and final delivery.
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence and proactively identify and resolve issues affecting quality, schedule and successful project execution.
  • Coordinate closely with architects, interior designers, engineers, general contractors, construction managers, consultants and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review project plans, drawings, specifications and other construction documentation with a strong attention to detail and constructability.
  • Monitor construction progress, schedules, budgets, project milestones and deliverables, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Oversee punch lists and closeout activities, ensuring the quality and detail expected within luxury residential and hospitality environments.
  • Help drive accountability across project teams and ensure open items are followed through to completion.
  • Manage competing priorities across multiple projects while maintaining organization, urgency and attention to detail.
  • Travel to domestic and international project sites as needed to support construction and project delivery.

Job description

A growing private family office is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support its Project Directors in the execution and delivery of a portfolio of complex, high-end residential projects (w/ some diversification in asset type otherwise).

This is a hands-on project management role for someone who thrives being in the details and appreciates this type of assets. The Project Manager will be actively involved in projects under construction, partnering with Project Directors, architects, designers, contractors and other consultants to ensure projects are executed to an exceptional standard.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of relevant experience and a strong background in luxury residential or hospitality construction. This individual will be proactive and highly detail-oriented, with the ability to independently drive multiple projects forward while operating as part of a collaborative and experienced team.

The position is based full-time in the Manhattan office (100% onsite) and will require approximately 20% travel, including domestic and international project sites.
