Job summary

The Helmsman Group LLC is seeking a Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and monitor projects from initiation through completion in a fully remote role. You will ensure on-time delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with scope and quality standards while coordinating cross-functional teams.

You will manage schedules, risks, stakeholder communications, and vendor relations, develop plans and dashboards, and drive continuous improvement of PM processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in project management or related roles.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from planning through completion.
  • Strong knowledge of PM principles, methodologies, and practices.
  • Experience with schedules, budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and PM software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, or Monday.com.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and monitoring projects from initiation through completion. This position ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to established scope, quality standards, and business objectives.

The Project Manager coordinates cross-functional teams, manages project schedules and resources, tracks milestones and deliverables, identifies and mitigates risks, and communicates project status to stakeholders and senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Define project scope, objectives, requirements, responsibilities, and success criteria.

  • Coordinate project activities across multiple departments and functional teams.

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to project team members and monitor progress.

  • Establish project schedules and ensure activities remain aligned with deadlines.

  • Track project milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and critical path activities.

  • Monitor project budgets, costs, resources, and financial performance.

  • Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and potential delays.

  • Resolve project issues and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.

  • Ensure effective communication among project stakeholders and team members.

  • Support resource planning and allocation to ensure projects have the necessary personnel and capabilities.

  • Conduct project reviews and lessons-learned sessions after project completion.

  • Identify opportunities to improve project management processes and methodologies.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 4–7 years of experience in project management, project coordination, operations, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from planning through completion.

  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and practices.

  • Experience developing project schedules, budgets, timelines, and resource plans.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management software.

  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or similar platforms.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, or other recognized project management certification.

  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies.

  • Experience managing cross-functional or enterprise-level projects.

  • Experience with budget management, forecasting, and resource planning.

  • Experience working with executive-level stakeholders.

  • Experience with risk management and project governance.

  • Knowledge of project management tools and reporting systems.

  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, or third-party service providers.
