Job summary

3M in Maplewood, MN is seeking a Senior Project Leader to guide high-priority NPI and change-management projects within the TEBG Product Management Office. You will lead cross-functional teams, align stakeholders, manage risks, and drive launches with disciplined execution.

This role offers on-site work at 3M Center, up to 10% travel, and requires a BS or higher and minimum 3 years PM experience; PMP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional project teams to execute medium to large complexity New Product Introduction (NPI) and change-management projects, including project chartering, scope definition, work breakdown planning, milestone planning, gate review preparation, launch readiness, and delivery against project objectives.
• Partner with business management, technical leaders, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, marketing, and other stakeholders to align project scope, priorities, resourcing, risks, and decision points.
• Own project communication by establishing clear communication plans, providing regular stakeholder updates, escalating risks constructively, and driving key decisions to closure.
• Manage project schedule, scope, deliverables, resources, budget assumptions, risks, issue resolution, approvals, documentation, decision logs, and action tracking to support on-time and in-full execution.
• Apply and reinforce project management process discipline, including use of project management tools, project plans, communication plans, risk registers, gate review deliverables, lessons learned, and other standard practices to improve project execution and team effectiveness.
• Leverage global resources and subject matter experts across functions and geographies while coaching team members on project expectations, tools, process discipline, and effective collaboration.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
• Three (3) years of project management experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Five years of experience in new product commercialization in a private, public, government, or military environment
• Innovative, resourceful, organized, and self-directed, with excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical problem-solving ability
• Collaborative interpersonal style with experience leading large cross-functional project teams

Work location:

• This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office at 3M Center, located in Maplewood, MN.

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
