Job description

Logistics Insight Corporation (LINC), a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, is seeking a Project Manager to support the launch and implementation of a new customer operation in Madison, WI.

This individual will be responsible for coordinating startup activities, working cross-functionally with internal teams and the customer, and ensuring a successful operational launch. The role requires strong project management skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a hands‑on approach to supporting implementation efforts.

This position will be based in Madison, WI, supporting the Sub-Zero account. Travel will be limited and only required as business needs arise, such as startup support, customer meetings, training, or project-related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Startup & Launch Activities: Coordinate all phases of new customer launches and operational startups, ensuring milestones are completed on schedule.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop project timelines, action plans, and launch deliverables while tracking progress and driving accountability.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key point of contact between the customer, operations leadership, engineering, HR, IT, finance, safety, and other stakeholders throughout implementation.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Facilitate communication across departments to ensure staffing, training, equipment readiness, systems setup, and operational requirements are aligned.
  • Launch Readiness: Support facility readiness activities, workforce onboarding, equipment installation, process validation, and operational testing prior to go-live.
  • Project Meetings & Reporting: Lead project meetings, communicate status updates, document action items, and elevate risks when necessary.
  • Risk Management & Issue Resolution: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation plans, and coordinate issue resolution to maintain project timelines.
  • Post-Launch Support: Assist with stabilization efforts following startup, ensuring a smooth transition to the operations team and successful customer onboarding.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of project management, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, implementation, or startup experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting warehousing, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, appliance, or automotive operations.
  • Previous involvement in customer implementations, operational startups, business launches, or large-scale project deployments.
  • Experience working with cross-functional operational teams.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, transportation, or supply chain processes.
