Job summary

Actalent in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Project Manager to lead multifamily construction from start to finish. You will coordinate subs, manage schedules, track costs, and ensure documentation and closeout deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
• Experience using Procore for project management is a plus.

• OSHA 30 certification is highly desirable.
• First Aid and CPR certifications are a plus.

Job Title: Project Manager

Job Description

This Project Manager role focuses on leading multifamily construction projects from start to finish, with a strong emphasis on project and subcontractor coordination, scheduling, documentation, cost management, and project closeout. You will oversee day-to-day construction activities on site, ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget, and maintain accurate project records throughout the lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all phases of multifamily construction projects from initial construction through final closeout.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, including scheduling, scope clarification, and day-to-day oversight on the jobsite.
• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules to ensure timely completion of milestones and overall project delivery.
• Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses.
• Oversee cost management activities, including budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting to keep projects within approved budgets.
• Review and interpret construction drawings and documents to guide field activities and resolve design or constructability issues.
• Monitor construction progress and quality to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to communicate project status, issues, and resolutions.
• Support and manage the full project lifecycle, including project documentation, punch lists, commissioning, and closeout deliverables.
• Maintain organized project records, logs, and documentation related to schedules, costs, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Identify potential risks or delays and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
• Contribute to a safe jobsite by promoting adherence to safety procedures and requirements.

Essential Skills

• 610 years of project management experience in construction.
• Proven experience managing multifamily construction projects, including apartments.
• Strong background in project scheduling and subcontractor coordination.
• Hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project costs, budgeting, and financial tracking.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents.
• Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle from construction start through closeout.
• Solid construction management and project coordination skills.
• Ability to oversee construction activities in an on-site environment and work closely with field teams.

Work Environment

This role is based on the jobsite, providing direct oversight of day-to-day construction activities for multifamily apartment projects. You will work closely with field teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders in an active construction environment that requires regular coordination and on-site presence. The organization offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off with 3 weeks of PTO that increases to 4 weeks after four years of service, along with 89 paid holidays. End-of-year discretionary bonuses may be available based on project completion and performance. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $180000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
