Job summary

Strategic Alliance Business Group (SABG) is looking for a Project Manager to support facility engineering operations at the US Secret Service James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, Maryland. The role entails oversight of construction-related activities and project management tasks in a Government contract setting.

Candidates should have a four-year degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, demonstrating skills in problem solving and effective communication. The position requires a Public Trust clearance and entails on-site travel where necessary.

Project Manager

Brief Description: SABG is hiring a Project Manager to support facility engineering operations at the United States Secret Service James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, Maryland.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Travel: On-site. Travel may be required to project sites including JJRTC, Post Office Range at William Jefferson Clinton Federal Building in Washington DC, Range 1 and Range 10 at Fish and Wildlife, and Federal Law Enforcement Training Center at Glynco, GA.

Clearance: Public Trust is required, in addition to being able to obtain a USSS Personal Identity Verification (PIV) card

Location: Laurel, MD

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight of construction-related activities for contracts
  • Support COR by performing all project management tasks
  • Provide day-to-day project management for construction and service projects
  • Tasks include coordination with customers, schedule review, and design review
  • Develop solutions to construction problems or existing conditions encountered in the field
  • Review contractor submittals for contract conformance
  • Aid the contracting officer or COR throughout the acquisition phases of the project to include answering offerors questions; attending/participating in site orientation visits; attending/participating in joint contractor/government meetings
  • Draft technical responses to any change orders
  • Prepare statement of work and cost estimate for new contracts and contract modifications
  • Limited supervision and general direction
  • Independently applies advanced techniques to complex assignments
Supervision

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience
  • Four-year degree in construction management, engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years project management work experience on commercial or Government construction projects
Computer Skills
  • Skills in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and database (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Additional specialized construction management software skills may be required
