  • Coordinate workforce and leadership alignment with regional health initiatives.
  • Analyze population health data and present executive dashboards for continuous improvement.
  • Develop standard project tools and templates to build capacity among partners.
  • Apply structured problem-solving to resolve barriers and standardize practices.
  • Collaborate with the North Region Operational Excellence team with onsite presence most days.

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Operational Excellence team in the role of Project Manager.

Description

The Project Manager provides strategic project management support for community health initiatives aligned with IU Health Impact priorities and regional health improvement goals across the North Region. Reporting through Operational Excellence with Health Impact as the primary focus, this role manages project portfolios, stakeholder engagement, performance monitoring, and data-informed continuous improvement. The position serves as a key project partner between IU Health, community organizations, public health agencies, and regional stakeholders to advance evidence-based strategies that address social determinants of health and improve overall community outcomes.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant Project Management experience required.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Healthcare Industry experience a plus.
  • Experience working in a complex, matrix environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning & Implementation: Partner with leaders to translate Health Impact priorities into clear project plans, milestones, workstreams, and sustainability strategies.
  • Portfolio & Operations Management: Oversee a complex portfolio of community health programs utilizing standardized project management methodologies. Manage timelines, resource allocations, action ownership, risk escalation, and ROI tracking.
  • Stakeholder & Community Engagement: Convene and facilitate multidisciplinary workgroups and external community partnerships to ensure coordinated program execution.
  • Workforce & Leadership Coordination: Maintain line-of-sight to Community Health Worker programming to promote alignment between regional efforts and system leadership.
  • Data Analytics & Continuous Improvement: Partner with analytics teams to review population health data, assess program effectiveness, translate findings into countermeasures, and present executive dashboards.
  • Technical Assistance & Capacity Building: Develop standard project tools and templates while supporting capacity-building efforts for internal and community partners.
  • Risk Management & Process Excellence: Apply Operational Excellence, change management, and structured problem-solving methodologies to resolve barriers and standardize successful practices.
  • Operational Excellence Team Integration: Function as an active member of the North Region Operational Excellence team, maintaining at least 4 days per week onsite and participating in daily huddles, weekly forums, monthly team meetings, and assigned projects.
