We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Houston. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project planning, execution, and delivery within our materials handling projects. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management proficiency to ensure the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires close collaboration with supporting departments such as Purchasing, Logistics, and Controlling, with a strong emphasis on enhancing customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of comprehensive project plans based on the as sold project, including scope definition/split, resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish clear project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
Project planning
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support throughout all project phases.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment to enhance team morale and productivity. Optimize resource utilization by grouping similar tasks among various projects.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure alignment on project goals, expectations, and deliverables.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions. Proactively address issues as they arise to keep projects on track.
  • Manage and participate on site activities during installation, start‑up and troubleshooting of equipment onsite or in house. Coordinate shipping requirements internally and externally.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, tracking costs against projections and implementing cost‑saving measures where appropriate.
  • Ensure financial accountability and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, assessing impacts and communicating effectively with stakeholders to minimize disruption and ensure project success, prepare contract change orders if necessary.
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports, status updates, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Provide regular progress updates and performance metrics to senior management.
Purchasing support
  • Solicit quotes for equipment as specified.
  • Bid comparisons based on price, technical fit, and schedule.
  • Attend and support purchasing in vendor selection and final negotiation.
  • Administer and manage contractor and vendor contracts.
  • Write purchase requisitions, expediting and inspections.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management within the material handling or related industry, with at least 8-10 years of relevant experience and a track record of successfully delivering large‑scale projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong technical knowledge of materials handling systems, equipment, and technologies.
  • Bulk material handling of dry and liquid materials, weighing, dosing, and batching.
  • Pneumatic conveying systems (dilute & dense phase technology).
  • Belt & screw conveyors; vibrating screen separators.
  • Compounders, cyclones, filters, rotary valves, diverter valves, LIW feeders, scales, silos, weigh hoppers, structural steel platforms, bagging/packaging equipment, and PLC process control systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to project sites and client locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with ERP systems, project management methodologies and other relevant tools for project planning, scheduling, and tracking. PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
