• Ensure systems meet contractual specs for functionality, productivity, reliability, quality and safety.
• Identify risks and budget overruns and implement mitigation strategies.

They have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join their team. This position is well‑suited to a highly organised and proactive professional who is looking to lead complex automation projects from concept through to successful delivery.

This position is based in the Project Management department and reports to the Project Management Manager. You will oversee multiple concurrent automation projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while collaborating closely with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, scope definition, execution, and final delivery.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, risk registers, and open issue logs.
• Coordinate engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and installation activities to achieve project milestones.
• Ensure systems meet contractual specifications for functionality, productivity, reliability, quality, and safety.
• Proactively identify project risks, budget overruns, and delivery challenges, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
• Manage project procurement activities, including bid package development, vendor evaluation, purchase orders, and supplier performance.
• Lead project teams and maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders, customers, consultants, and external vendors throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical systems experience.
• Minimum of six years experience in technical systems, ideally within the material handling or automation industry.
• Strong system‑level understanding of Mechanical Engineering, PLC Controls, and Software Engineering.
• Experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30-50% as required.
