The role requires strong planning, expediting, inspection, and logistics skills with field supervisory experience. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, safety and vendor teams on site.

Qualifications

• PM skills including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience with expeditor and expediting activities to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Inspection skills for monitoring work quality, safety standards and specifications.
• Logistics management for coordinating material flow, shipping, receiving and inventory.
• Strong field experience; supervisory roles preferred; engineering degree not required.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy process environments; related backgrounds beneficial.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

Atlantic Alumina, operating as Atalco Gramercy, is the only major alumina refinery in the United States, located on the Mississippi River in Gramercy, Louisiana. The facility imports bauxite from a surface mining operation in Jamaica and refines it into alumina through a sustainable, continuous loop process. The plant produces more than 1 million metric tons per year of various alumina products used in aluminum production and as critical inputs for global industrial and consumer applications. Role Description

This full-time, on-site Project Manager role is based at the Atalco Gramercy facility in Gramercy, LA. The Project Manager will lead and coordinate projects related to production, logistics, and facility improvements, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Daily responsibilities include planning project scopes, developing schedules, managing resources, and monitoring progress, as well as collaborating with operations, maintenance, safety, and logistics teams. The role involves overseeing vendor and contractor activities, supporting expediting and inspection processes, and addressing project risks and issues in a timely manner. The Project Manager will also prepare status reports, maintain project documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with safety and environmental goals.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience with Expeditor and Expediting activities to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services.
• Inspection skills for monitoring project work quality, compliance with specifications, and adherence to safety standards.
• Logistics Management skills for coordinating material flow, shipping, receiving, and inventory related to project needs.
• Strong field experience required. Craft supervisory role experience preferred (foreman, superintendent). Project management, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience preferred but not required. Enginerring degree not required.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy process environments; background in metals, chemicals, or refining is beneficial.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement in a plant setting.
