Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Project Manager to lead equipment projects from start to finish, directing teams to meet scope, schedule and budget. You will coordinate with Account Managers, suppliers and customers to develop solutions and manage detailed cost estimates.

You will monitor project plans, schedules and cash flow while maintaining customer satisfaction and overseeing material orders and vendor payments. The role requires strong collaboration across global teams and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology or business management with 3-5 years of experience in estimating, engineering or construction management.
  • Working knowledge of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and HVAC controls.
  • Experience reading blueprints, construction plans and specifications.
  • Experience with computer estimating and word processing software.
  • Excellent organization, communication and follow-up skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews construction plans to meet customer requirements and discusses equipment solutions with Account Managers, Suppliers and customers.
  • Coordinates selection, pricing and integration of equipment, controls and services for each project.
  • Creates detailed cost estimates and resolves major deviations from scope with the team.
  • Identifies cost-saving opportunities and risk items; optimizes project costs by negotiating with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Plans and analyzes projects, sets schedules and parameters, and establishes procedures to meet objectives.
  • Maintains forecasted cost at completion and generates revisions to project schedules with tasks and milestones.
  • Manages material and vendor orders, records receipts and approves payments.
  • Produces purchase orders for vendor orders and generates work orders for equipment start-ups.
  • Oversees project cash-flow management including progress billing and collections.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction through issue investigation and corrective actions.
  • Ensures smooth warranty transition to the service process.

Job Overview:

Ingersoll Rand has a new exciting opportunity to join our organization as Project Manager you will manage all aspects of equipment projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution while leading a team, or teams, to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources. You will alsobe responsible forthe administration, implementation, and management of control projects and accountable for assigned project’s scope of work, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

Performs construction plan review to meet customer requirements. Develops, evaluates, and discussespossible equipmentsolutions withappropriate AccountManagers,Suppliersand customers.

Coordinatesselection, pricing, & integrates equipment, controls, & services for each project.

Responsible for creating detailed cost estimates. Resolves major deviations from scope w/ team after Project Scope Validation.

Responsible foridentifyingpossible costsaving opportunities &/or risk items that will occur on various projects.Optimizesjob costs by negotiating prices w/ vendors/sub-contractors through quotations for materials/services. Plans &analyzesassigned projects,establishesschedules & project parameters & sets procedures toaccomplishsystemobjectives, involving complex applications.

Responsible formaintainingthe accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion.

Creates &makes revisions toproject schedulesincluding:generating tasks, estimates, dependencies; & milestones.

Responsible for the preparation of material & vendor orders; recording the receipt of materials & approving payments.

Responsible for entering equipment orders & issuing purchase orders for vendor orders. Generates work orders for equipment start-ups.

Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support & monitoring, & resource management.

Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, & communicating w/ customers & assigned staff.

Responsible for the successful transition of warranty to the service process

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineeringtechnologyor business management with 3-5 years of experience in estimating,engineeringor construction management.

Working knowledge of allfacetsof construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and knowledge with the operation of HVAC systems, electricalsystemsand temperature controls.

Knowledge reading and understanding blueprints and construction plans and specifications.

Experience with computer estimating and word processing software programs.

Exceptional organization, communication (verbal and written), and follow-up skills with the ability to effectively manage a high volume of priorities and commitments with internal and external customers in a highly visible, fast-paced work environment.

Strong interpersonal skills, able to follow standard processes and work autonomously while understanding when to elevate issues that require further review.

Proven ability to collaborate, influence and support change with stakeholders across multiple levels of a global organization.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
  • This position may require travel: roughly 25%.
