Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking an Engineering Program Manager to lead a portfolio of new product development and optimization projects from concept to delivery. You will align stakeholders, secure resources, manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk, and drive revenue growth and operational performance.

The role requires senior-level program oversight across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, with hybrid work in Davidson, NC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, including demonstrated leadership of cross-functional projects.
  • 3+ years delivering multiple projects in a product development or manufacturing environment and coordinating cross-functional resources.
  • 2+ years of experience with project planning, scheduling, risk management, and status-reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through the gated project management process, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, success criteria, schedules, budgets, and governance requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams comprised of engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing, quality, product management, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish project operating rhythms, decision-making processes, and accountability mechanisms; provide project management direction and support to teams and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, including milestones, dependencies and critical-path activities.
  • Maintain the accuracy of project financials and the forecasted business case; monitor spending, benefits, and variances.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, and assumptions; develop mitigation and recovery plans and elevate decisions when needed.
  • Provide concise, fact-based reporting on project status, financial performance, risks, decisions, and next steps to project teams, and leadership.
  • Improve project execution by developing standard work, applying lessons learned, and advancing project management tools, methods, and best practices.

Job Summary

The Engineering Program Manager leads a portfolio of new product development and product optimization projects that drive revenue growth, margin expansion, customer value, and operational performance. This role manages multiple cross-functional projects from concept through implementation and is accountable for scope, schedule, budget, risk management, and overall project delivery. The successful candidate will align stakeholders, secure resources, resolve barriers, and provide clear, data-driven communication to project teams and leadership.

Requirements

Preferences
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent formal project management training is preferred.

  • Ability to travel periodically to support project teams, and manufacturing sites.
