Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Project Manager in Gainesville, FL to lead construction projects from startup to closeout. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety, review contracts and drawings, and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors.

The role requires at least 3+ years in PM for heavy civil or related fields, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office and scheduling tools. Travel 1–3 days/week; direct hire in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent technical education/experience.
  • 3+ years of project management experience in prestressed concrete tanks, heavy civil construction, water/wastewater infrastructure, or a similar field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable insurance.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, mathematical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, submittals, document control, and project coordination.
  • Ability to learn and apply new construction technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from startup through closeout, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements are met.
  • Review contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including CPM and look-ahead schedules.
  • Coordinate drawings, submittals, procurement, materials, vendors, subcontractors, and engineering requirements.
  • Partner closely with Superintendents to monitor field progress, address issues, and coordinate resources.
  • Lead preconstruction and project meetings, including scope, safety, quality, schedule, budget, and logistics planning.
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, commitments, forecasts, and overall financial performance.
  • Manage change orders, delays, documentation, and contractual recovery opportunities.
  • Identify project risks early and develop corrective and mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Coordinate inspections, quality control activities, testing, documentation, and project closeout.
  • Provide accurate project reporting and participate in post-project reviews.
  • Travel to assigned project sites approximately 1-3 days per week, based on project needs.

Superior Skilled Trades is hiring for a direct opportunity with a client in Gainesville, FL. Pay: $90K - $120K (based on experience)

Position Overview

The Project Manager independently manages standard to moderately complex construction projects from startup through closeout. This role is responsible for project safety, quality, schedule, budget, profitability, documentation, client communication, and overall project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • 30-Hour OSHA Certification.
  • Concrete or infrastructure construction experience.
  • Experience with MS Project or other scheduling software.
  • Bluebeam and Autodesk DWF Composer experience.
  • PMI-CP Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
Working Conditions
  • Regular travel to project sites, generally 1-3 days per week.
  • Occasional travel to projects outside the assigned territory may be required.
  • Extended hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
  • Hands-on training will be provided on specialized construction methods and repair materials.
