Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Project Manager to organize, manage, and plan complex R&D and product implementation projects. The role covers planning and execution, maintaining status reports, and proactively addressing risks with third-party partners.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, at least three years of related experience, and strong communication, organization, and analytical skills. PMP/CAPM/PgMP certifications are desirable.

  • Bachelor's degree required in a related field such as CS, business, or engineering.
  • At least three years of project management experience.
  • PMI certifications (PMP, PgMP, CAPM) are highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an interdepartmental team to complete projects on time and to specifications.
  • Outline tasks, delegate, and conduct cost analysis with budgeting responsibilities.
  • Prepare and implement budgets; conduct risk assessments and mitigation.
  • Act as liaison between company, customers, and vendors; coordinate with sales/marketing.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and company policies.

The Project Manager will organize, manage, and plan complex projects for the organization’s research, development, and product implementation efforts. The Project Manager is responsible for a combination of planning and execution of activities related to the delivery of projects for their teams. When executing on project delivery, Project Leads are responsible for the success of one or more projects within a given timeline and budget, creation, and maintenance of status reports, proactively managing issues and risks, and working with 3rd party partners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Leads an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Outlines the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.
  • Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
  • Prepares and implements a budget based on estimates.
  • Conducts risk assessments: reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).
  • Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
  • Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
  • Communicates and collaborates with sales and marketing teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, which may include Computer Science, Business, or Engineering, required.
  • At least three years of related experience required.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Other Duties:
  • Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Pay Rate:

$75k - $100k (Depending on Experience)
