Job description

A PE-backed climate tech and renewable energy company transforming waste gases into low-carbon fuels via modular, on-site technology is seeking a Project Manager. The company is entering a significant growth phase, and this role is central to delivering the project pipeline.

The Project Manager leads each project end to end, owning it from the point commercial terms are largely set through commercial operation (COD) and handover to operations.

The PM partners with the Commercial team just before agreements are executed, so the transition is seamless, then coordinates every agreement and workstream from there. Engineering owns design and construction-ready packages, while the PM owns the project as a whole, including agreements, permits, budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Agreement compliance. Own compliance with the Gas Rights Agreement (GRA) and other project agreements (lease, interconnect, offtake). Track obligations, deadlines, notices and reporting, and make sure the controller and accounting team know about payment and other obligations. Coordinate with internal owners and outside partners so each project meets its contractual requirements, including insurance coverage.
  • Permitting. Coordinate local, state and federal permitting with the internal team, including engineering inputs for applications and landfill partner approvals.
  • Utility and pipeline interconnection. Manage interconnect agreements and the utility process, including rights-of-way, easements and site access.
  • Budget and schedule. Own the project budget, schedule and critical path from development through COD, with regular reporting to leadership.
  • Design coordination. Work with Engineering on facility layout, site design and construction-ready packages.
  • Construction Manager oversight. Oversee the Construction Manager to make sure what is built ties back to the design, permits and project agreements. The PM does not run the job site day to day.
  • Landfill partner relationship. Handle day-to-day coordination with the landfill owner or municipality on site access, gas collection and required approvals.
  • Incentives and regulatory programs. Coordinate with the team on investment tax credit (ITC) documentation, Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) registration, and related requirements.
  • Handover to operations. Support the Construction Manager on commissioning, documentation and warranties. The PM owns final compliance with the GRA and other project agreements at handover and makes sure Operations understands every ongoing obligation, so Operations can take over the asset cleanly.
Qualifications
Required
  • 7+ years of project management on energy or infrastructure projects, ideally RNG, landfill gas, biogas or midstream gas.
  • Experience taking projects from development through construction and COD.
  • Experience managing project agreements and obligations (land or gas rights, leases, interconnect, offtake), including notices, deadlines and reporting.
  • Experience owning project budgets, schedules and critical path, and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Working knowledge of permitting and utility or pipeline interconnection, including rights-of-way and easements.
  • Experience overseeing a construction manager or EPC contractor to confirm the build matches design, permits and agreements.
  • Strong communication skills, with comfort working with landfill owners, municipalities, utilities and regulators.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
Preferred
  • Direct experience with landfill gas or RNG projects, or upstream or midstream oil and gas projects.
  • Familiarity with ITC, RFS and LCFS requirements.
  • Experience working with insurance brokers and meeting insurance requirements under project contracts.
  • PMP or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience in a small, fast-moving team across multiple concurrent projects.
Working Relationships and Logistics

The PM works closely with Commercial (handoff before execution), Engineering (design and construction-ready packages), the Construction Manager (build oversight), the controller and accounting team (payment obligations), and Operations (handover).

  • Reports to: Vice President, Development and Operations
  • Location: Remote or on-site at Florida facility
