Job summary

ESCO Construction Company in Evergreen, CO, is seeking an experienced Project Manager for our heavy civil portfolio. The role emphasizes organization, budgeting, and subcontract management, with time spent in the office rather than the field.

You will oversee schedules, takeoffs, and stakeholder communications, delivering projects on time and within budget while leveraging ESOP-owned benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years progressive responsibility on heavy civil construction projects.
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or similar discipline.
  • Strong understanding of field operations with aptitude for building complex projects.
  • Ability to access all points of a construction site in diverse climates and environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Manage budgets including internal labor and equipment costs, subcontractors and materials.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules.
  • Issue and administer subcontracts; monthly progress billing.
  • Solicit and analyze subcontractor and material quotations.
  • Identify field changes and coordinate with A/R and A/P.
  • Maintain clear verbal and written communication with the team.

Responsibilities and Job Duties
  • Experienced in managing budgets, including internal labor and equipment costs, subcontractors, and materials.
  • A clear understanding of heavy construction means and methods.
  • Basic computer skills with the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek earthwork takeoff software, and Microsoft Project are a plus.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Solicit and analyze subcontractor and material quotations.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules.
  • Issue and administer subcontracts.
  • Monthly progress billing.
  • Identifying and addressing field changes.
  • Work with A/R and A/P on accounts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • This position requires time in the office, not the field.
