Job summary

General Kinematics invites a driven Project Manager to join our team in Crystal Lake, IL. You will define scope, develop plans, and coordinate cross-functional resources to ensure on-time delivery of vibrating equipment projects.

You will assess risks, manage budgets, and communicate progress to stakeholders. The role requires 2–4 years of PM experience in industrial settings, strong communication, and willingness to travel 15–20%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; 2-4 years project management in OEM/industrial/construction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Blueprint reading with AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; ERP & PM software (MS Project, Procore).

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with senior PMs and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans with timelines, resources, and dependencies.
  • Conduct risk assessment and mitigation planning.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute tasks per plan.
  • Monitor progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain regular team communications and status reports.
  • Allocate resources across departments including personnel and equipment.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources to meet goals.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts with finance.
  • Track expenditures against budget allocations.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports highlighting progress and milestones.
  • Facilitate two-way communication among teams.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation and records.
  • Participate in post-project reviews and lessons learned.
  • Attend 'Project with Issues' meetings when applicable to determine root cause and lessons learned.
  • Maintain weekly communications with production, engineering, and sales teams.
  • Contribute to best practices goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Track budgetary objectives and adjust constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting and independent decision-making.
  • Report safety concerns related to equipment installation and operation.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Adhere to ISO objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Work on equipment that may involve ladders, crawling, and harsh sites.
  • Understand basic business concepts and respond to customer requests.
  • Upgrade technical knowledge while following existing policies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business, industrial technology, engineering, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities
  • Assist and define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior project managers and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and task dependencies.
  • Conduct initial risk assessment and mitigation planning.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure project tasks are executed according to the project plan.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with team members to provide updates and gather status reports.
  • Collaborate with department managers to allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure that resources are utilized efficiently to meet project goals.
  • Assist in preparing project budgets and forecasts in conjunction with finance and accounting teams.
  • Monitor project expenditures and track against budget allocations.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and milestones achieved.
  • Facilitate two‑way effective communication between different teams and departments involved in the project.
  • Assist in developing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date project documentation, including project plans, schedules, meeting minutes, and other relevant records.
  • Participate in post‑project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
  • When applicable, attend the “Project with Issues” meeting and work with internal stakeholders to determine root cause designation and lessons learned for the company.
  • Maintain weekly communication with production, engineering, and sales departments, with updates to ensure proper adherence to established timelines and objectives.
  • Assist in developing best practices goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Track budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting, problem resolution, and independent decision‑making after identifying and analyzing problems logically and comprehensively.
  • Document and report any safety concerns as they relate to the installation and operation of our equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Sales, Manufacturing and Engineering departments.
  • Comply with the company’s ISO objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Work on equipment that may involve climbing ladders, crawling under objects, and operating in harsh conditions/join sites.
  • Understand basic business concepts and respond to customer requests.
  • Adhere to existing policies and procedures while building technical knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial technology, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of project management experience in an OEM, industrial, or construction setting.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and supply‑chain operations.
  • Blueprint reading required (AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 15‑20 %.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Background check required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proficient in ERP systems and project management software (MS Project, Procore, etc.).
Good To Have
  • Bi‑lingual abilities a plus.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
  • Project management certifications (PMP, CSM, CAPM, etc.) a plus.
