Job summary

FH Construction Group in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Project Manager to lead the full project life cycle, drive business development, and mentor project teams across design, engineering, and field operations.

Safety

Client, Design Team + Trade Partner Coordination

  • Build and foster relationships with current and prospective customers, architects, engineers, trade partners and community members.
  • Collaboratively work with key stakeholders (design, engineering, ownership, vendors) to ensure projects are designed, procured and constructed in alignment of expectations.
  • Key point of contact for project(s) with all key stakeholders.
  • Collaboratively work with preconstruction, design teams and trade partners to set target costs and proactively identify areas for savings.
  • Participate and lead business development efforts, including but not limited to selling work, assisting with RFPs and interviews, networking with clients, owners, and trade partners.

Project Planning, Scheduling, + Procurement

  • Take an active approach in collaborating with superintendents and trade partners to develop accurate schedules and project sequencing.
  • Manage procurement of all materials on the project in coordination with the Superintendent to avoid delays and/or impacts.
  • Purchase and monitor the delivery of all needed materials for the projects to ensure conformance to specifications and contract documents.
  • Responsible for all business aspects of assigned project(s) including financial, customer relationship, design team relationship and trade partner management.
  • Manage all aspects of the cost control process, including but not limited to contract billings, cashflows, change management and monthly financial projections.
  • Accountable for project financials, client satisfaction, completion and overall project execution.

Document Control Management

  • Electronically prepare, review, maintain and distribute project specific files (RFIs, submittals, specifications, addenda, construction documents, ASIs, closeout, etc.).
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the administration project process from project inception through closeout.
  • Prepare, update, and distribute agendas, meeting minutes, and action item lists for the various project coordination meetings.
  • Negotiate, issue, and manage all required trade partner and vendor subcontracts, providing clear scope definitions specifically related to their project responsibilities.
Who you are:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar
  • Prior experience as a Project Manager, or similar role, leading commercial construction projects
  • Team leader who can demonstrate and uphold FH’s values (people, efficiency, unconventional, growth)
  • Understanding of the entire project life cycle from cost estimating through construction closeout.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with owners, vendors, suppliers, trade partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communicator and problem solver who drives for results.
  • Experience and/or desire to be in a client-facing and high-visibility role.
  • Demonstrates a high attention to detail and strong organizational skills to drive efficiencies and reduce redundancies.
