Job summary

Datum Engineers is seeking a Project Manager to lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction in Chicago. You will coordinate internal teams, collaborate with clients and consultants, and guide solutions that serve communities.

You will mentor engineers, develop standards, and contribute to technical resources while advancing your own expertise within the firm.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis.
  • Current Professional Engineer License (structural) in Texas.
  • At least 10 years of experience in structural design of buildings.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, mentor engineers, and coordinate with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering projects from concept through construction.
  • Coordinate internal teams and collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants.
  • Direct project teams through analysis, design, detailing, and documentation.
  • Mentor engineers and designers; help grow technical capabilities across the firm.

Master's Degree in Structural Engineering strongly preferredAt least 10 years of experience in the structural design of buildingsCurrent Professional Engineer License (structural engineering) in TexasSkills, Abilities & QualificationsStrong knowledge and understanding of fundamental engineering principles, structural behavior, and design of structural materials.Good teammate, considerate, respectful, and supportiveStrong analytical and communication (verbal and written) skillsStrong organizational skillsSelf-motivated and willing attitudeTenacity to see a project or assignment through to completion with a high degree of quality.Ability to effectively process and present complex information to both internal and external groups
