Our client is looking to bring on a Mid-Senior level Project Manager to their team. This position is remote, but will need to be in driving distance when needed to attend meetings. Office is located in Birmingham, AL.

You will oversee and guide strategic corporate initiatives using a standardized project management framework. Steer cross-functional teams through all project lifecycle stages—initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure—to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with established quality benchmarks. Apply advanced expertise in project management, incorporating a deep understanding of related disciplines. Consistently communicate progress and key updates to stakeholders throughout the duration of each initiative.

What you'll do:

  • Direct cross-departmental teams on high-impact, complex initiatives with significant visibility.
  • Execute projects aligned with established methodologies, overseeing scheduling, resource alignment, and performance tracking to ensure project goals are met.
  • Tackle multifaceted challenges with informed decision-making, providing strategic solutions within policy parameters.
  • Maintain and regularly update comprehensive project plans, incorporating capacity and resource considerations.
  • Drive the creation and evaluation of business cases and financial projections in alignment with organizational approval processes.
  • Facilitate coordination among internal departments, technical teams, and external vendors as project needs dictate.
  • Provide strong leadership to keep projects on track with respect to timeframes, budgets, and quality requirements.
  • Ensure continuous communication regarding project milestones and developments to all key parties.
  • Develop and sustain expertise in the bank’s primary systems, processes, and infrastructure.
  • Stay informed on financial industry trends, products, and services to provide contextual insight for project execution.
  • Lead and deliver presentations tailored for team members and executive stakeholders.
  • Influence project success and broader business outcomes—missteps in strategy or execution may result in the need for additional resources to recover project objectives.

Skills needed for success:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Minimum of three years in a project leadership role within the financial services sector or consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets.
  • PMI PMP Certification is desirable.
  • Background in process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, paired with analytical precision and organizational aptitude.
  • Ability to self-manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, with strengths in influence, negotiation, consensus building, and resolving conflicts.
