Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a skilled Technical Project Manager in Texas to oversee multiple projects for the Texas Institute for Electronics. You will coordinate cross-disciplinary teams across electrical, mechanical, software, and systems areas to meet schedules and budgets.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in technical PM, with strong communication and budgeting capabilities. You will interface with clients and external contractors to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in technical project management.
  • Experience with industrial controls or similar tech environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical project management oversight for multiple key projects.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and keep stakeholders informed of progress and blockers.
  • Oversee mechanical systems engineers in R&D of advanced 3D HI processes.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, resources, risks, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients and facilities/vendors to ensure on-time completion within budget.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical project management oversight to multiple key projects within the Texas Institute for Electronics, a semiconductor consortium.
  • Effectively manage highly technical multi-disciplinary teams and projects, ensuring schedules are met and critical stakeholders are informed of current progress or roadblocks.
  • Oversee the work by a team of mechanical systems engineers in the research and development of novel electrical, mechanical, software, and systems related to advanced 3D HI processes.
  • Develop, coordinate, oversee, and ensure completion of multiple project task lists and schedules related to the design, fabrication, assembly, and tests of equipment systems.
  • Manage and direct assigned projects with emphasis on time schedule control, coordination of project development and implementation, and communication with designated clients.
  • Develop project plans including project life cycle, budgets, resource requirements, change management processes, risk management, key milestones, communication mechanisms, test plans and deliverables.
  • Implement and recommend policies and procedures to ensure compliance of all applicable laws, University policies, rules and regulations.
  • Manage project implementation including emergent issues with emphasis on time schedule control to ensure all tasks are completed within established deadlines and budgets.
  • Prepare detailed reports on project progress with stakeholders and teams to include project plans, barriers and solutions, milestones, financial costs/projections and analyses.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders and team leads to manage scope changes.
  • Manage, develop, direct, and evaluate assigned projects utilizing accepted project management methodologies, communication and consultation with stakeholders and project team members.
  • Interface with facilities and outside contractors to coordinate and manage resources.
  • Track requirements/specifications and changes throughout the product lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, project management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in technical project management.
  • Knowledge of project management software and practices.
  • Experience with industrial controls.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong budget tracking, labor tracking, and scheduling skills.
  • Proficiency in information analysis and budget setup.
  • Strong scheduling skills and team vision.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • You must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined in 22 CFR § 120.62.
