Job summary

HDR in Anchorage, Alaska seeks a strategic‑minded Project Manager to join its Alaska Resources Business Group and support development of public and private projects across Alaska.

You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, oversee all phases of development to ensure on‑time delivery within scope and budget, and serve as the primary client contact while maintaining strong relationships. Strong communication and QA/QC focus are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 7 years of related experience.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Oversee all phases of project development ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop and review scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures.
  • Coordinate internal project tasks and manage external subconsultants to meet project objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure coordination of deliverables and consistent communication between team members.
  • Conduct team meetings to discuss productivity, workload distribution, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with HDR leadership to monitor project workload and resource needs.
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience leading engineering and/or environmental regulatory projects.

  • Local candidates are preferred.
