Job summary

Cajun Industries, LLC is seeking a Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects in a plant operations or construction setting. The role requires reviewing plans, staffing, budgets, schedules, and regulatory compliance to ensure completion within time and funding constraints.

The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams, prepare bids and reports, administer subcontracts, and maintain thorough project documentation while coordinating with clients

Responsibilities

  • Confer with project staff to outline work plan and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
  • Examine estimates of material, equipment and production costs, performance requirements, and project schedules
  • Review status reports and modify schedules or plans as required
  • Prepare bids, process specifications, test and progress reports and other exhibits that may be required
  • Review bid from other firms for conformity to contract requirements and determine acceptable bids
  • Award and administer subcontracts, including final payment approval
  • Prepare project reports for management, client, or others
  • Advise superintendents and construction manager of contractual rights and obligations
  • Maintain subcontracts and subcontractor status databases
  • Act as liaison between company, client and subcontractors
  • Aggressive collection through invoicing on time, demanding payment within terms of contract, and using best judgement with schedule of values
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all events, discussions and issues
  • Provide monthly projections of the status of the project
  • Coordinate project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies when applicable
  • Assist other craft workers as needed

Overview

The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.

Qualifications

Physical: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee may be required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods during office work and meetings.
  • Move periodically across office settings, client venues, and active project or site locations.
  • Operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information in person, electronically, and during virtual or telephone meetings.
  • Lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Direct, collaborate with, and communicate with executives, clients, and project teams.
  • Interpret and apply company policies, safety protocols, and written instructions.
  • Perform mathematical calculations, analyze business data, and review project estimates.
  • Maintain accuracy, productivity, and attention to detail while managing competing priorities in an active office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Process, retain, and manage complex project details, contractual requirements, and client data.
