COMPENSATION RANGE: $57,285 to $96,330. Based on our Phoenix, AZ office location. (West Yost uses geographic salary differentials that would apply for candidates in other regions).

PROJECT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

BASIC JOB FUNCTION

The Project Management Specialist will provide management support to project engineers/scientists and program managers to effectively execute professional services contracts. Responsibilities may include managing staff and technical/administrative teams, overseeing subconsultant/subcontractor agreements and performance, and ensuring internal staff and external client communications represent West Yost’s high standard of services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE)

  • Manages or supports project teams in achieving the project scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Provides overall project management support to Project Managers, top management, and supporting team members.
  • Assists project managers in project workload planning and manages the process for workload forecasting.
  • Communicates project plans and updates to the project team and management.
  • Oversees the implementation and delivery of projects.
  • Identifies problems and implements solutions to improve and enhance performance against established objectives.
  • Reviews and analyzes the status of assigned projects for the purpose of cost reporting and workload management.
  • Coordinates project activities from simple tasks to larger plans, working with administrative staff, support staff, sub consultants, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators.
  • Manages schedules, arranges assignments, monitors the progress of projects, acknowledges team suggestions, addresses potential issues, and measures and reports on project performance.
  • Supports business development efforts including client outreach and proposal preparation and tracking of active business development activities.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Education and/or Experience

    • At least 5+ years of related experience required.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, Procore, and accounting software.

    Preferred Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Deltek Vision and/or Vantagepoint
    • Certified Associate in Project Management or Project Management Professional
