Standard Job Description

The role will serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for all Material Inventory Control (MIC) activities at the Marietta site, overseeing both Program and Core Production Control functions. In this capacity, the CAM will ensure Earned Value (EV) compliance across cost, schedule, and technical scope, and will provide functional leadership reviews and EV assessments for all management levels, up to the Executive Vice President and the customer. The role requires adherence to the Production Control cost‑reporting cadence, which includes daily, weekly, and monthly material inventory control task management. This entails performing detailed cost and schedule variance analyses, defining root causes, and implementing corrective actions in a timely manner. The CAM will prepare and distribute MIC cost‑performance metrics and produce monthly comprehensive presentations that detail cost variance analysis, performance impacts, and corrective action efforts, while also validating monthly and overall Estimate‑at‑Completion (EAC) figures for MIC allocations to ensure alignment with Manufacturing Base EACs.

The CAM is responsible for monitoring the performance of the Marietta MIC pool relative to the MIC base, establishing staffing targets that meet budgeted productivity factors, and applying critical‑path analysis to anticipate impacts, delays, and mitigation plans. Labor‑support issues that could affect Manufacturing Base cost and schedule commitments must be identified, communicated, and resolved promptly. Participation in monthly site‑staffing meetings is required to evaluate production volume changes and new initiatives, determine direct and indirect support needs. Additionally, the CAM will manage the Basis‑of‑Estimates (BOE) used in proposal and contract negotiations, develop and oversee the implementation of affordability initiatives, and drive best‑practice adoption across the Marietta Production Control team.

Finally, the CAM must ensure that monthly staffing plans support all budget and Estimate‑to‑Complete (ETC) commitments, creating requisitions in advance of staffing needs. The position demands strong knowledge of Earned Value Management, critical‑path analysis, and cost‑variance reporting, along with proven ability to lead cross‑functional reviews, communicate complex performance data to senior leadership, and champion continuous‑improvement initiatives within a production‑control environment. Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
