Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking a Project Manager I on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus to oversee utility infrastructure capital projects including electric and thermal energy production and distribution.

You will coordinate meetings, prepare reports, manage design and construction contracts, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on time, safely, and within budget, with onsite work including nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or energy-related field.
  • PMP Certification or interest in achieving it.
  • Experience with safety standards and protecting workers and the public.
  • Experience with scope development, estimates, contracting, cost tracking, and project closeout.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Procore, or similar PM tools for reporting to stakeholders.

What You Can Expect

As our Project Manager I at the Ohio State University campus, you will manage utility infrastructure capital projects that support the campus utility system, including electric and thermal energy production, distribution, stormwater, and wastewater improvements.

Project schedules, meetings, and planned outages may require additional onsite time, including occasional nights or weekends. Your onsite presence will help resolve issues, remove barriers, and keep projects moving safely and effectively.

From development through completion, you will coordinate meetings, prepare reports, oversee project progress, manage design and construction contracts, and lead cross-functional project teams. Success will be measured by completing projects safely, on time, and within budget, with no health, safety, environmental, or public relations incidents.

Additional duties include the following:

  • Administration of contracts to include the development of project specifications, a detailed scope of work and principle contract provisions, working closely with corporate Contracts Management and the Procurement Department
  • Collaboration with the University stakeholders, ENGIE colleagues, and ENGIE contractors, including engineers, architects, construction firms, and other contractors to develop and execute projects
  • Partner with Program Manager and Operations and Maintenance leadership to identify potential projects and develop business justifications
What You'll Bring
  • You have a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or an energy-related field, experience in Construction or project management may be considered in lieu of the specialization of the degree
  • Possess or have the desire to achieve a PMP Certification
  • You will have experience in fostering and adhering to the highest safety standards, ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and the general public
  • You have some exposure to project support including full or partial responsibility for managing the scope development, estimates, stakeholder management, contracting, cost development, cost tracking, project execution, commissioning, and closeout of projects
  • You will have gained experience creating and giving presentations and professional communications, using Microsoft Office, Procore, or other project management tools, to create written reports, project updates, and reporting data for all stakeholders including your management team, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders, colleagues, and contractors, including engineers, architects, and construction firms to develop and execute projects
  • You utilize new budgets and cost tracking devices to provide input to long-term financial planning, issue contracts, change contract orders, and process invoices
  • You have monitored project progress in design and construction phases through regular contractor and stakeholder interaction both virtually and in-person on work sites
Additional Details
  • This role requires frequent attendance at a job sites.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record to use a company vehicle and travel across campus to project sites
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule as project commitments allow. At a minimum, three days a week are required in the office with a set schedule to be agreed upon with the Supervisor.
Compensation

Hourly Range: $37.07 - $56.84 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
